Wonderful News

I usually start a new year full of motivation and positivity, this year it feels like I need a bit of a push start. To give me (and hopefully others) a little boost during this crazy time I’m keeping a record of the wonderful stories and initiatives I come across this year.

January 2021

♥ Promoters of happiness Gary Butterfield, and Rob Baker created Three Good Things, a place where people can reflect upon, share and look back on 3 good things.  

♥ Leeds Action for Happiness Group launches. Join other local folks who are committed to building a happier and more caring society. Sign up to join the Leeds Group.  

♥ A new campaign is asking businesses to donate unwanted computers to support at-home learning for children in Sheffield without computers. Find out you can help Laptops for Kids. 

♥ Charu Monga, a professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati helps children to overcome difficulties they face due to an early sunset and infrequent power supply. Watch how Charu’s work gives wings to children’s dreams. 

♥ An elderly woman’s random act of kindness gave a family a much-needed boost after a tough year. 

♥ Drax Power Station donates hundreds of items of bedding and towels to York’s homeless shelter Changing Lives.
